Bandits, another dramedy, is coming to cinemas on the 17th of November. The movie was directed by Muyiwa Aluko (Treachery, Dream House), one of the Best Director nominees at this year’s Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA). The nomination is credited to North East, a film starring OC Ukeje opposite Ini Dima Okojie and Carol King.
Produced by Watts Camera Action (Lucky Me) and distributed by Genesis, Bandits has been labelled a “laugh per minute fiesta”. From the movie synopsis: Fred is willed an ugly painting by his wealthy uncle, and with the help of his best friend he sells it for a cheap price. But he would later use his blood and sweat to retrieve it when he discovers it’s a ninety-six million naira fortune.
The film stars the veteran and award winning Joke Silva (Royal Hibiscus Hotel), Chigul Omeruah (Banana Island Ghost), Gbenga Titiloye (Battleground), John Ukpe (Stupid Movie), Linda Ejiofor (Industreet), Saeed Funky Mallam (Behind The Wheels), Bethel Njoku a.k.a. Senator (Mentally), and FunnyBone (Kondo Game).
