Husbands of Lagos
Husbands of Lagos tells the story of seven men living in Lagos and the women in their lives. The series features a delicate mix of the good, the bad, and the ugly in a tapestry of intrigue, secrets, deceit and romance. It stars Bobby Obodo, Bolanle Ninalowo, Uche Odoputa, Richard Tanksley, Mary Remmy Njoku, Moyo Lawal, Yvonne Jegede and Ovire Peggy among others. Season 2 premiered three months ago on November 2, 2016 and the new cover was way better than the previous, trust me.
Single Ladies
The series which begun airing in time for the Valentine, on Sunday February 12, leads us into the lives of five young single women: Anne Idibia, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, Mary Njoku, Grace Amah and Padita Agu as they navigate the scary, exciting world of dating to find the perfect mate. It promises to be exciting, watch this space.
Jenifa’s Diary
Directed by Tunde Olaoye and produced by Funke Akindele, Jenifa’s Diary is a comedy series following Suliat, a razz village hairdresser who heads to the city to try and gain admittance into the university. Currently in it’s 7th season, the must-watch stars Yemi Blaq, Folarin Falz Falana, Tunrayo Adegboye and Omotunde Adebowale David to name a few.
Losing Control
Losing Control is a TV series produced by Emem Isong for Rok Studios and directed by the talented Ikechukwu Onyeka. It tells of Uche (Mary Lazarus), an out of work squatter who disguises herself as a man to gain employment. The second season of the series premiered on October 2, 2016 and stars Joseph Benjamin, Mike Godson, Susan Peters, Jemima Osunde, Eddie Watson, and Mary Njoku among a host of others.
V Republic
V Republic follows four women seeking different answers to their not so perfect lives. They’re are thrown together by events which creates a platform for relationships beyond their wildest dreams. The much talked about series was also created by the award winning Shirley Frimpong Manso (Shampaign) and stars Joselyn Dumas as Mansa, Nikki Samonas as Gina, Christabel Ekeh as Laura, and Jasmine Baroudi as Tilly Walsh. Its hard to pause a Shirley Frimpong-Manso film.
Festac Town
Festac Town is a gritty drama series about crime, love, power, and deceit among the upper, middle, and lower class living in Festac. It stars top talents like Francis Duru, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Mary Njoku and Oge Okoye to name a few.
