Expectations are high for the JAF Alliance produced “Something Wicked”, as it hits cinemas across the country from Friday February 17, 2017.
Set in Lagos, “Something Wicked” tells the story of a widow; Hauwa (Iretiola Doyle), who welcomes her recently orphaned nephew Abel (Okey Uzoeshi), into her home, after the murder of his parents in a sectarian crisis in a Northern Nigerian city.
Abel has a difficult time fitting-in with a new family that’s not totally accepting of him. At the same time, Hauwa struggles with being the rational adult and peacemaker in the family, whilst her business falls apart. This family’s bond is tested when they are thrown into a life-threatening situation that has them doubting everything they thought they knew about themselves.
The director Yemi Morafa says “I enjoyed making Something Wicked, and as soon as I read the script, I knew exactly how I wanted this film to look and feel. Working with professionals like Iretiola Doyle, Okey Uzoeshi, Adesua Etomi, Gabriel Afolayan, Ivie Okujaye- Egboh, Beverly Naya and the rest of the cast, made my job a dream.
