The official trailer and movie poster for Ajuwaya (The Haunted Village) is out! Produced and directed by Tolu Awobiyi (aka Lord Tanner), the story centers on six corp members posted to a remote village in Osun State who awaken an age long evil that begins to haunt them.
Tolu ‘Lord’ Tanner is known for his feature film – Couple of Days (2016), a romcom produced by Ayo Orunmuyi and starring Adesua Etomi, Lilian Esoro, Kiki Omeili, Enyinna Nwigwe, Okey Uzoeshi, Ademola Adedoyin, and Falz the Bahd Guy.
According to Naijalingo, “Ajuwaya” is a slang for serving members of the Nigerian Youth Service Corps. It is derived from the pidgin version of the the phrase “As you were” (A military term equivalent to “at ease”, the opposite of “attention”).
The film stars Kemi Lala Akindoju (Sandra’s Cross), Rahama Sadau (Sons of the Caliphate – Series), Timini Egbuson (Shuga), Etinosa Idemudia (Losing Control), Kalu George (Dreamers), Lanre Hassan (Family on Fire) and Imafidon Dec.
The trailer also features an upbeat soundtrack to wet any viewer’s appetite. It’s six corpers in one haunted village for the most riveting experience of their lives. Ajuwaya (The Haunted Village) will debut in cinemas on the 7th of July, 2017. Scoring and sound design for the MindVista production was done by DJ Klem.
