Tope Tedela is a multi award winner known for A Mile From Home, Out of Luck and Ojukokoro (the comedy-heist by Dare Olaitan). Premiering on the 31st of August and coming to Genesis Deluxe Cinemas by the 8th of September, the film is a Cool Story and Cornucopia collaboration in association with Kukuruku and Veeblu Productions.
Written and produced by Paul Utomi (Shuga – TV Series, O-Town), What Lies Within is a compelling story into the life of a happily married woman and her pregnant sister-in-law. They’re thrown into the center of an incident that has far reaching consequences on their lives and loved ones. Tope Tedela speaking on the movie said, “Many months ago two of my buddies came up with the idea of us making a film and I was scared to my bones but eventually budged. We started saving and scraping what we had and finally got round to making it happen.”
“It was a scary and exhilarating experience making this film and I’m really glad that the film will be out soon for everyone to see,” added Paul Utomi. The director and co-producer, Vanessa Nzediegwu also said, “Making What Lies Within wasn’t easy but directing it was an experience. We tried to tell a simple and enjoyable story that explores quite a few themes and we hope people find it interesting.”
The film was shot in Lagos and stars Michelle Dede, Paul Utomi, Ebele Okaro, Kiki Omeili, Okey Uzoeshi, Vanessa Nzediegwu, Ken Erics, Tope Tedela, Odenike and Yaw.
