I started watching Hotel Lambaba and all I can say is no, no, no!—I will lose my mind if it is what I think it is and guess what? We have another “A weekend to forget” yet again on our hands.
We really need fresh ideas in the Nollywood industry and writers because it’s high time they come up with indigenous ideas and stop remaking movies from the Hollywood industry.
The plot revolves around the discovery of a girl’s murder in one of the hotel rooms, prompting a police investigation that unveils a web of secrets among the guests. While the premise holds promise, the execution falls short, leaving gaping plot holes and unanswered questions in its wake.
The film has major shortcomings in its narrative inconsistencies and unrealistic character portrayals. The sudden breakthrough in the investigation, facilitated by an Instagram picture, feels contrived and unbelievable.
Despite its flaws, Hotel Labamba features commendable performances from its cast, particularly Bimbo Ademoye and Blessing Jessica Obasi-Nze. Their portrayals add depth and humor to the storyline. However, the efforts of the cast are undermined by a disjointed plot that fails to engage and captivate audiences.
Hotel Labamba fails to live up to its potential as a gripping murder mystery due to narrative inconsistencies and unrealized plot developments, resulting in a disappointing movie experience. Despite moments of entertainment, its overall impact is disappointing, earning it a rating of 4.5/10.
