If by now, you haven’t seen all 4 seasons of You, then there are only two explanations: 1. You arent a fan of psychological thrillers or 2. You don’t like the good stuff. Yep. We said what we said.
Everyone knows or should know Joe Goldberg, the charming bookkeeper turned stalker turned serial killer who never kills his victims on purpose. Nope. There’s always some reason, some fact beyond his control, a jealous possessive friend, a.k.a. Peach, or a partner who leaves more to be desired, Benji, Beck’s boyfriend. To be honest, Benji was a crappy boyfriend.
We loved every bit of You from Season 1 to Season 3. But the first part of Season 4 had a lot of us feeling like something major was missing- Joe and his murders. The producers of the show heard our cry and gave us plot twists and suspense at every turn.
Warning: Spoilers Ahead!!!
You Season 4 features Joe Goldberg, pardon us, Professor Jonathan Moore, a professor of literature who falls in with a crowd of rich spoiled brats. The problem begins when these brats start falling dead the moment Jonathan Moore comes in. The bigger problem is every time one of them dies, he always somehow manages to find himself at the scene of the crime with no recollection of what happened. All he knows is he didn’t kill them. To make his problems worse, Joe is being stalked. You read that right. The stalker is being stalked.
He believes Rhys is the one behind the murders as Rhys himself confirmed this. But guess what? When Jonathan Moore eventually meets Rhys in real life, Rhys has no idea who he is, neither has he ever met him. He knows they’re not friends and he most definitely hasn’t killed anyone.
In the end, we find out that Joe is indeed the murderer who killed these posh friends and even Joe is shocked so he tries to kill himself after this discovery. But he didn’t die, and Joe may or may not get to live a happy life after all.
