Since Prime redefined “he who laughs last laughs best” as “he who laughs last laughs in 40 million Naira, I’ve caught myself wondering which African proverbs I can enter for.
Just kidding.
Last One Laughing did not start today and neither is it just an African thing. No.
The six part unscripted comedy is a franchise of Prime’s that has been around for decades and has travelled across scores of countries.
It’s only that it is just extending to Africa and doing so at the most appropriate time- when comedians had been feeling less included in the industry.
As proper, an auspicious premier was held to commemorate it on July 10 2023, and numerous celebrities from all spheres of the entertainment industry were in attendance.
The excitement was palpable- in and out of the arena- but we didn’t get too carried away and forget to bring you top looks spotted on your faves.
