Entreat, directed by Michael Asuelime (Big Man – 2012), is a story of four friends: Michael, Segun, Muyiwa and Charles, who are in different challenging relationships with each one trying hard to protect personal interest regardless of who gets hurt. All four men are caught in a complicated web which arises as the men try to maneuver dicey situations in their respective relationships.
The movie premiered last month and stars an amazing Nollywood cast which includes Dakore Akande (Fifty – 2015), Alexx Ekubo (Gbomo Gbomo Express – 2015), Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Wale Ojo (Fifty – 2015), Wole Ojo and Femi Jacobs as they try to emphasize the relevance of trust before marriage and the importance of forgiveness in moving on when painful truths are exposed.
Wale Ojo’s role as an affluent investor and chronic womanizer was well on point while Dakore Egbuson’s teary scenes and the way she took on her character were second to none; she literarily lost herself to the script. According to an award winning Actor- Alexx Ekubo, “Entreat is a family friendly movie. This is one of the movies that make you step back and evaluate your life. This project is out of the box, and I have never shot any movie where all the locations are exotic”.
The production had a few lighting and visual flaws while some scenes were dark, or too bright. The costumes looked brilliant and worked for the cast perfectly, also, the stunts looked very believable. Camera angles also left much to be desired as some scenes had actors with their backs to the camera. This movie doesn’t come off as being my movie for the month and takes a 6/10 at most.
