Will Smith is playing the life of Nigerian-born Dr. Bennet Omalu in the upcoming movie ‘Concussion’ set to be released in the theatres on the 25th of December.
Dr. Bennet Omalu, a forensic neuropathologist who first proved the link between head injuries in football and long-term brain damage, is a Nigerian doctor who first received his MB, BS [M.D.] degree from the University of Nigeria in 1991. It is learnt that only a few men have a profound impact on the NFL and Omalu is one of them.
In the dramatization of Omalu’s story, Will Smith plays the brilliant researcher, who had to face down the might of the NFL when his conclusions came to light.
