“The film centers on a pair of divorcees, Tony and Lulu (OC Ukeje and Joselyn Dumas), who decide to share equal space in their ex-matrimonial home. They soon realise the idea is easier said than done. Tony brings in an attractive female house-help while Lulu hires an attractive young man. Bent on flexing their egos, they soon turn a complicated situation into a roller coaster of laughter, jealousy and tears.”
The multiple award winning director, Frimpong-Manso, is notable for Love or Something Like That, Rebecca and The Contract. Speaking on the film she said, “I have written a lot about marriage and new relationships but never about divorce. I wanted to put a hilarious spin on it“. Inya Lawal, co-producer and casting director for Evol and Isoken, said the movie “has a fantastic creative team behind it” and is “definitely worth seeing“. The soundtrack features recordings from Swedish, French, British, Ghanaian and Nigerian artists.
Potato Potahto was shot in Ghana and stars Joke Silva (Battleground – Series), Chris Attoh (A Trip to Jamaica), Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju, OC Ukeje, Joselyn Dumas (Shampaign – Series), Blossom Chukwujekwu (Okafor’s Law), Nikki Samonas, Adjetey Anang and Victoria Michaels.
