Congratulations are in order as Writer and Producer Uduak Isong Oguamanam wins the ‘Outstanding Feature Film Award’ for her movie ‘Beautiful People’ at the just concluded Inaugural Sacramento Pan African Film festival which held in Sacramento United States.

The movie ‘Beautiful People’ was released in 2022 and focuses on three different generations of women; a teenager on a journey of self-discovery, a middle-aged woman afraid to commit again after a broken relationship and a woman in her fifties seeking a fresh start. It stars a mix of acts including – Kanayo O Kanayo, Clarion Chukwurah, Chioma Chukwuka, Deyemi Okanlanwon, and Yvonne Jegede.

According to Emem Isong, prolific Writer, Director and sister to Uduak, who picked up the award, on her Instagram page “Congratulations, Koko @uduakisong1 for a well-deserved award for your film ‘Beautiful People’ at the Inaugural Sacramento Pan African Film Festival. Your hard work, dedication, and talent have paid off in the most incredible way, and I couldn’t be happier for you👏👏👏👏👏👏

Your passion for storytelling and your commitment to excellence are truly inspiring. My film was also submitted amongst the many films, but I no win o😀😀. It means I taught you well abi??🤪😀.

It’s a pity you could not attend, but I danced and celebrated on your behalf. We shall continue the party in Canterbury😉😎. Keep shining bright and creating meaningful art that moves and inspires us all”.

The Inaugural Sacramento Pan African Film Festival also known as Sac-Panafest is a Pan-African Film festival designed through a collaboration between Black Filmmakers in the Diaspora and African Filmmakers to showcase the best of African and black cinema across the globe in Sacramento. Hosted by The Africa House, Sacramento, in collaboration with the Center for African Peace & Conflict Resolution at California State University, Sacramento and Naija Films.

Here at Xplorenollywood, we wish Uduak many more wins.
