The Lost Cafe, Isoken, Ojukokoro get Highest AMAA Nominations

The Lost Cafe, Isoken, Ojukokoro have received the highest number of AMAA nominations this year.



The Lost Cafe movie is an uplifting and charming story portraying the culture shock and emotional turbulence of dealing with heartbreak so far away from home. The movie has been riding the wave of success since its debut at AFRIFF 2017. Produced by Norway-based, Nigerian-born Regina and Akor Udalor, directed by the award-winning Kenneth Gyang and with a screenplay written by Ifesinachi Okoli-Okpagu, The Lost Cafe bagged seven nominations at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), alongside Isoken and Ojukokoro with each getting six nominations each.

Starring a mix of Nigerian and Norwegian cast, The Lost Cafe features Tunde Aladese, Belinda Efah, Ann Njemanze; alongside Norwegian cast like Terje Lien, Jenny Bonden and Anders Lidin Hansen, The Lost Cafe was shot on location in Calabar and Norway.

It has been nominated for the AMAA 2018- Anyiam Osigwe Foundation Award for Best Nigerian Film, AMAA 2018 Award for Best Film,  AMAA 2018 Award for Achievement in Sound, and AMAA 2018 Award for Achievement in Cinematography. It also scored nominations for its Lead Actor – Tunde Aladese; Director – Keneth Gyang; Producer – Regina Udalor & Akor Udalor; and Screenwriter – Ifesinachi Okoli-Okpagu.

Since its debut in November 2017, The Lost Cafe has been selected to screen at Women of Africa Descent Film Festival (WADFF), Brooklyn USA; Nollywood Week Paris; Denton Black Film Festival USA; Silicon Valley African Film Festival California; Twin City Black film Festival; Mexico International Film Festival, Real Time Film Festival; and 5 movies and a word Film Festival, Calabar.

It has also won several awards including the Audience Prize awards,  Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF); Golden Palm Award (Mexico intl Film Festival); Jurors Choice Award,  WADFF; and Audience Choice Awards, 5 Movies and a Word Film Festival, Calabar.

The Lost Cafe was recently signed on for distribution by an International agent, German company, Rushlake Media GmbH.
