Sambasa Chidozie Nzeribe has made his debut as a producer with a Tale of Love & Remembrance. The short film is a spoken word poetry inspired by Banky W and Adesua Etomi’s love story. It starts as a heist with Sambasa on the run, and then gracefully slides into romantic poetry and drama.
Written and performed by Sambasa Nzeribe, the Tale of Love & Remembrance is dedicated to couples getting married all over the world. Sambasa (meaning Surviving-And-Maintaining-Balance-Against-Societal-Aggression) is well known for his roles in A Mile From Home, A Soldier’s Story, Slow Country, The Wedding Party, and Tatu to name a few. This year he was a brand ambassador at the sophomore edition of the Real Time Film Festival.
He respectively won the Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor awards at the 2016 and 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA). In 2016 he was the Best Supporting Actor at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, and in 2017 he’s been re-nominated in the Best Actor category. Will he repeat the AMVCA phenomenon?
Sambasa’s Tale of Love & Remembrance was directed by Wole Aduwo and shot by Adeoluwa Owu (Distraction). The cast include Oluwaseun David Kafari, Folaremi Agunbiade, Uche Obunse, Sambasa Nzeribe, Ifeanyi Mbachu, Fidelis Ogunseri, and Mr. Ernest.
