The original Wives on Strike” movie followed the story of a group of market women, who decide to take matters into their own hands against their husbands in a bid to stir them into standing up for a young girl, whom they wanted to protect from the wishes of her own father.
Here is what we know of the Sequel;
It is Omoni Oboli’s Fifth Production as a Director: She is officially one of the most hardworking women in Nollywood and she is not slowing down. The sequel to Wives on Strike is written, produced and directed by Omoni Oboli, and this is her fisth production after writing directing and producing, “Being Mrs Elliot”, “The First Lady”, “Wives on Strike” and “Okafor’s Law”.
The Title is “Wives on Strike: The Revolution”: The original film was a female empowerment story, and was quite enjoyable, and this time it is called a revolution. We see a lot of Aseobi pictures from the set, the story line is under wraps but we can tell there will be more agitation from the women.
Release Date is December 29, 2017: They are still shooting the sequel but Omoni promises a December release. December is usually a busy period for films at the cinema, especially new films that enjoy strong marketing get released within the festive period. Knowing Omoni, she will be spending a lot of time with her fans for the holiday, because she will be traveling around to publicize the release of her film. If the Royal Hibiscus Hotel gets a December release, we will eagerly keep tab on the progress of the two films.
It is Star-Studded: Omoni Oboli, Kenneth Okonkwo, Julius Agu, Chioma Chukwuka, Uche Jombo, Ufuoma McDermot, Solala Sobowale, Chigurl, Odunlade Adekola, Elvina Ibru and Toyin Aimakhu will all be featured in the new film. We usually have our reservation on star studded flicks, because past films have proven that the stars are all they have to offer but we hope Omoni gives us something good.
Definitely a Comedy: Sola Sobowale, Chigurl, Odunlade Adekola, and Toyin Aimakhu should definitely spark laughter on this one.
The first film grossed N71 Million in 2016.
We are on the lookout for this one. Tell us, are you excited to see Wives on Strike; The Revolution?
