Themed “The Year of Inspiration”, the Exquisite Lady Of the Year (ELOY) Awards is set to celebrate women doing exceptionally well in their fields and those who have made a great impact in the society. The nominees for it’s 2017 edition have been released and actresses like Adesua Etomi, Toyin Abraham, Uru Eke, Osas Ighodaro Ajibade, and Beverly Naya made the list. According to the founder, Tewa Onasanya, “the criteria for the ELOY Awards focuses on the character of the individual, her ability and achievements and how her work impacts the Nigerian and African society.”
The press conference announcing the nominees, anchored by Yetti Ogunnubi, held on the 26th October at the Trends Kitchen, 16 Remi Olowude Street, Lekki. The upcoming award and recognition night will kick off by 5PM on the 26th November. Omoni Oboli, one of the nominees, hasn’t been stepping on the brakes this year. Last year she was awarded the Best Producer for Wives On Strike, a feature with a sequel set to hit us soon. Two blockbusters later (Okafor’s Law and My Wife & I) and the filmmaker has been re-nominated alongside Kemi Adetiba, Jadesola Osiberu, Bunmi Ajakaye, and Grace Edwin Okoh for the 2017 Best Female Movie Director Award.
