Set to be released in cinemas on the 8th of December, 2017, the film follows a Yoruba prince and a young lady from a distinguished Igbo family whose relationship is threatened by tribal prejudice. When the couple secretly wed against their parents’ wishes, the consequence shakes the very foundation and sustenance of both families.
The Bridge was written by Shola Dada, produced by Lasun Ray-Eyiwumi (Ejika ’08), and directed by Kunle Afolayan (The Figurine ’09). The director is popular for a number of awards credited to films such as October 1, Phone Swap, and The Antique.
The Bridge is a Golden Effects Pictures collaboration with the Bank of Industry Nollyfund. Earlier collaborations this year with Africa Magic gave us Roti, The Tribunal, and Omugwo. The Bridge also marks Chidinma Ekile’s debut as an actress in a feature film, ranking her among Nigerian musicians playing a part in the film industry.
The movie stars Demola Adedoyin, Chidinma Ekile, Ken Erics, Ayo Mogaji, Zack Orji, Kunle Afolayan, Tina Mba, Jimoh Aliu, Ayo Akinwale, Bayo Salami, Lere Paimo, Wole Olowomojuore, Lanre Hassan, Jimoh Aliu, and Mama Ray-Eyiwumi.
The film was shot by Nodash in Ilorin, Kwara State, and the distribution will be handled by Silverbird.
