IRoko TV does a good job of consistently releasing Nigerian films to its faithful subscribers both home and abroad. While some of these productions follow generic storytelling patterns, iRoko also succeeds in getting fresh, exciting and enlightening narratives. It is also interesting that films that are not originally produced by iRoko take a long time to arrive on the streaming site. In the past year, it has been interesting to note that some of the biggest productions from Nollywood have been released to be streamed on Netflix.
Some of the films on our list are available on iRoko TV and Netflix, but there are some that were exclusively sold to Netflix
Putting films on Netflix is a strategy by Nollywood producers to reach over 200 countries with their films. Netflix has grown in a short time to serve over 200 countries and putting content on the streaming site could do a lot of good for Nigerian filmmakers, in terms of interacting with an international audience.
If you are subscribed to Netflix and will like to catch some Nollywood films currently streaming, we have compiled a list for you.
