Meet the new Actors Guild of Nigeria’s President!

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has been quite controversial.

While Ibinabo Fibresima was the president there were a lot of issues that shook the body. She was arrested at a point, Emeka Ike fought tooth and nail to get the position and many more underlying issues affected the body, including the heated argument between Adesua Etomi and Toyin Abraham about the acting body. The AGN was silent for some time, but recently Emeka and Ibinabo dominated news sites for their reconciliation.

On Tuesday, 29th August, 2017, actor, Emeka Rollas emerged winner of the Actors Guild in an open election.

An election conducted by Emeka Rollas polled 42 votes against Emeka Ike’s 12

Emeka Rollas understands the struggle of the guild and he wants to heal the wounds before going further as president. In a Statement, he said;

“Having gone through deep crisis which almost destroyed the very foundation of our guild over the years, we have commenced work immediately towards healing the wounds of the past. We are resolute in building a strong and united body for Nollywood actors with a view to restoring total peace, forgiveness and reconciliation amongst all aggrieved parties, for our strength lies in our unity. I open my hands of fellowship to all for us to rebuild this Guild, for there cannot be a good leader without good followers.”

If you are wondering who Emeka Rollas is, he has featured in Last Burial, Naomi, House Party, Sleeping with the Enemy and much more.

The actor came into prominence since the 90s and we hope his experience will take the guild to the next level.
