And just like that Xplorenollywood returned from its long hiatus of over 5 years after sitting through a private viewing of “Love is a Musical”.
“Love is a Musical” stirred up emotions, and thoughts, almost made me cry, and reminded me why I kicked off Xplore and the reason I love theatre. Set in an Estate in Lagos where neighbors know each other, speak up for one another, and love gossip.
The Musical is all about love and its ramifications; we see Love as sweet and kind, as greedy and selfish, as dreams and aspirations, as fear and breakfast served, as sad, as taking advantage and being taken advantage of. All these feelings, mixed with original musical melodies, thought-invoking dance routines, a fun narrator in Madame Tojubole, and dramatic scenes from Oga Landlord, Peter the Artist, C-Money the Entertainer and Mrs. Adeleye; Madame Landlord.
“Love is a Musical” comes to Eko Hotel and Suites on Saturday the 17th of September at 7 pm, it is directed by Ice Nweke and promises to take you on a whimsical journey you will never forget.
