Judith Audu has carved a niche in Nollywood by producing films such as Stormy Hearts, Just Married and Obsession. She has also featured in some of these films and continues to juggle the role of being a Production Manager, an actor and a producer, we can officially add Director to her title. Judith has completed work on a short film project titled ‘Mirabel’ with support from a crop of other young filmmakers.

Mirabel is an intense emotional drama about love lost and love found. It follows the lives of two young lovebirds; Shawn (Moses Akerele) and Tonye (Omowunmi Dada) and how an unplanned pregnancy not only pulled them apart but totally ceased their world. Not accepting the emptiness that comes with a separation, Shawn tries for five years to find something that can bring back happiness. Will he get it and will it make any significant difference? Only Mirabel (Naomi Ojochide Yahaya) has the answer.

Omowunmi Dada, Moses Akerele, Tunbosun Aiyedehin, Maimuna Yahaya, Naomi Ojochide Yahaya, Chris Iheuwa and Steve Enagbare.

The film crew includes Emmanuel Odihiri, Ibikunle Ibitayo, Seun Afolabi, Osita Philip and a host of others.

The number of female directors in Nollywood is on the increase. If anything can set Nollywood apart, it is the creation of more outstanding stories that relate to women, break stereotypes for women and advocate for women, and we hope the growing number of female directors plays a part to the success of fresh narratives.

We will be looking out for Judith Audu’s film.
