There can only be two explanations for not knowing who Scar is at this point. You either live under a wi-fi-less bottom of a rock or you are allergic to Nigerian movies in general.
I’d like to presume that you are neither, though, given you are reading this right now. However, let’s get to the point.
Chidi Mokeme, a.k.a Scar of Shanty Town, is set to return to our screens in Ramsey Nouah’s highly anticipated movie, Tokunbo.
The seasoned actor and a holder of the 2021 Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards “Best Actor” has only recently restarted after a five-year layoff (due to medical reasons). But like this slogan back like we never left (very common among online vendors) Chidi Mokeme is back like he never left.
In this new movie, Chidi Mokeme portrays Gaza , which also stars Gideon Okeke as the title character to tell the tale of an ex-car smuggler stuck in a conflict with his own conscience and time.
Will Gaza turn out to be another bad guy? Maybe. Maybe not. There’s no synopsis yet so we aren’t certain. But this is what we sincerely hope.
Though we believe there was too much ado about Shanty Town, there is no denying that Chidi was at his peak powers in the movie. And his on-screen vibe is exactly what we hope to experience again in Tokunbo.
Tokunbo is directed by Ramsey Nouah making it the third feather in Ramsay’s directorial cap.
The film’s principal photography began in November 2022 but it isn’t scheduled for release until the latter half of 2023 or 2024.
