Studio Reaffirms Zero Tolerance for Copyright Abuse as Suspect Is Arrested
FilmOne Entertainment has issued an official statement addressing a recent case of copyright infringement involving its hit title, Owambe Thieves. The studio confirmed that once evidence of the violation was established, it swiftly engaged the appropriate government agencies and law enforcement authorities, filing a formal petition to initiate action.
Illegal Upload and Distribution Exposed
According to FilmOne, parts of Owambe Thieves were illegally uploaded on TikTok by an individual operating under the alias “Naijaprey TV.” Further investigation revealed that the suspect was also selling access to a high-resolution pirated copy of the full film — a version watermarked with his identifier — for financial gain.
Following a detailed investigation, law enforcement agents tracked and arrested the individual, identified as Mr. Roqeeb Ayobami Musibau. Authorities confirmed that he will face the full weight of the law, serving as a reminder that digital piracy is a punishable offence, not an online shortcut.
