Filmmaker, Ema Edosio has brought curiosity to an end by announcing that her film “Kasala” will be released on the 12th October.
Kasala premiered at a number of film festivals, both home and abroad, and it is set to be the opening film at the Light, Camera Africa film festival, happening on the 28th September. Film critics have applauded the debut work of the writer and director, but up until the 25th of September, there was no official date for release.
Set over a period of 24 hours, Kasala follows the story of four young boys who are up to no good in their local area. They are determined to have a good night, and so they steal their uncle’s car to flex at a party. Unfortunately for them, they end up running into trouble. The movie’s director, Ema Edosio wants to represent the lives of the young average Nigerian in her film. Rather than the exaggerated opulence or forced poverty that is normally shown, she wants to tell stories as they exist in real life.
Kasala features a number of actors, including fast rising actor Chimezie Imo.
