Desecration is a star studded cinematic thriller to be released in all Nigerian cinemas from Friday, 21st of April, 2017. The world premiere already held in London on the 11th November, 2016. The story tells of a man caught between a strange woman and his family, and how a casual encounter becomes a living nightmare.
Produced by Bode Odetoye, Desecration is Rita Dominic’s first film set in the UK, hence her first UK production. The multi award winning actress plays alongside Joseph Benjamin – an actor, model, musician, voice-over artist, and television presenter.
He’s mainly known for co-hosting MTN’s Project Fame, a talent reality show, and starring in the movies Tango With Me, Mr. and Mrs., and Murder at Prime Suites. He also won the Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 2012 Nollywood Movies Award.
The anticipated blockbuster, shot in London and directed by Niyi Towolawi, is expected to further raise the bar in Nollywood cinemas. This will be Niyi Towolawi’s fourth debut after Twisted (2007), Turning Point (2012), and Tied Up in 2016.
His 2012 film – Turning Point, tells of an investment banker whose relationship takes a hit when his mother demands he hook up with someone in her circle. The movie which stars Jackie Appiah and Patience Ozokwor received 2 nominations at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
The writer-director is one of the leading filmmakers introducing the Nollywood audience to international cinema. Niyi Towolawi’s film-making style is visually dynamic and engaging, especially coupled with his high production values.
