Del-York Group has officially partnered with the globally acclaimed Tribeca Festival to present the African Film Spotlight — a powerful new platform that celebrates African storytelling, creative excellence, and cultural identity on the international stage.

The 2025 edition of the Tribeca Festival in New York City featured this milestone event, themed “Cross-Continental Collaboration & The Power of Partnership.” It brought together Africa’s leading filmmakers, producers, investors, and cultural policymakers for in-depth conversations aimed at driving investment, encouraging co-productions, and positioning African cinema as both commercially viable and globally influential.

The initiative is proudly supported by Afreximbank (through its creative subsidiary CANEX Creations Inc.), and co-sponsored by Nigeria’s Bank of Industry and UN Women.

Renowned Nigerian actress, director, and cultural ambassador Stephanie Linus led the charge for Del-York Group. She emphasized the importance of the platform in creating impactful narratives and building meaningful global partnerships.

“The African Film Spotlight is a catalyst to reshape Africa’s global creative footprint and fuel enduring, cross-border partnerships,” said Linus.

A major highlight of the festival was the CANEX Deal Room, where over a dozen African filmmakers pitched film and content projects to international investors. The session underscored Afreximbank’s strong commitment to financing Africa’s creative economy and promoting high-value intellectual properties with global appeal.

Del-York Group continues to lead Africa’s creative renaissance, further evidenced by its involvement in the Kebulania Lagos State Film City Project in Epe. In partnership with the Lagos State Government, this initiative is building critical film infrastructure and talent pipelines — demonstrating Del-York’s commitment to end-to-end ecosystem development, from policy to production and global promotion.

This historic partnership at Tribeca not only shines a spotlight on African cinema but also affirms the continent’s creative industries as a strategic frontier for global investment, cultural diplomacy, and innovation.
