Pathetic is produced by award winning filmmaker and singer – Dayo Amusa. It’s her follow up to Unforgivable (2014), her previous movie starring Desmond Elliot (director), Mike Ezuruonye, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun and Iyabo Ojo.
Directed by Ike Nnaebue (A Long Night, Other Side), Pathetic tells the story of a renowned TV star caught in a web of confusion. This is obviously the result from a wayward and inconsiderate husband who explores her status to his own devious means.
The movie which debuted on the 24th March, 2017, and currently showing in the cinemas, has been described by the producer as a human interest story. Like Unforgivable, this new blockbuster focuses on domestic violence and its ignored pervasiveness.
Speaking on it she said, “Pathetic portrays in a subtle and fascinating way, the mischievous ways the celebrities are explored by the media, the outsiders and pathetically, their most trusted loved ones, who regard them as preys to be feasted upon at their slightest means.”
She continued, “We must tell the many tales that are being kept as secrets, the many wounds that are being covered and the many stories that may never be told.” Pathetic was shot in 2015 and stars Bimbo Akintola (93 Days), Wole Ojo (Out of Luck), Toyin Abraham, Funsho Adeolu, Toyin Alausa, Taiwo Okunlola and Anu Shodanya.
