One thing about fashion at AMVCAS (or any other celebrity studded gatherings for that matter)? It is either you slay or you prepare to be slayed. You either come correct or you don’t come at all. And that’s on Buhari’s gap tooth.
This year is no different, Xplorers and you are about to see below, as I roll out the fifteen of the best looks for females, that made me forget how to breathe.
I have never been delusional to think black and white is a dull combination but this- this Ini Edo’s outfit- is a scientific discovery. I would pick apart what and what is doing it for me about the outfit but wouldn’t I be stating the obvious?
Mercy Aigbe slay was an anticipated one and she did not disappoint. The multiple time nominee and winner at the AMVCAs did not only do the 4×2 thing in this floor length sequined gown that was designed by the renowned Ceoluminee, she also licked the plate.
Many people wore black for this event but only few achieved excellence with it. Lilian Afegbai, one time AMVCA winner is one of the few, with her sheer corseted full length gown designed by the popular Swanky Jerry.
You can always tell a person’s personality by their choices. Velvet and on sheer net? Definitely bold. And that’s Nengi. The hair, the make up, as well. All gorgeous.
You will agree that this off shoulder with the plunging neckline and the full skirt is not a particularly new design but it still suits Bambam perfectly. One would be right to say Bammy was out for blood because she had no business sweeping the AMVCAs black carpet the way she did.
Iyabo Ojo, multiple award winning actress and RHOL cast member is one of the fashion pillars in Nollywood so I was not expecting anything less than A+. She came, slayed and devoured in this floor length multiple feather- covered peplum gown.
BBN Tacha was also not caught unfresh. Infact, if anything ,she was caught “20 thousand dollars” fresh in this sheer royal blue piece. I love love the strategic exposure and concealment of skin.
The actress and wife of renowned actor, Frederick Leonard was seen in this dramatic onion pink lace and organza ensemble. She stunned.
This heavily sequined bodice is so simple yet elegant and made Uche Montana look every inch of the sweetheart that she is.
What is this list without Kiekie? KieKie, the trendsetter. KieKie the trend. The full length thigh high slit gown is as fabulous as the multilayer waist capes behind it.
You know how gorgeous a piece has to be that you won’t need to to accessorize? Ladies and gentlemen of this jury, this is the look. This gorgeous ensemble of monochrome on Bimbo Ademoye. It was designed by none other than Swanky Jerry.
Ariyike Owolagba( AriyikeDimples)
Here is another gorgeous one but, from the stables of Ariyike Dimples, “Princess Arianna” in Sugar Chops by Biodun Stephen.
This maroon dress that also looks like a major needle and thread work was done on the whole bodice is nothing short of a delight.
In my opinion, I think Osas may have set a bar so high last year that even her present outfit needs to struggle to keep up. That’s not to say this year’s piece is subpar, especially since it makes my list.
Her outfit was beautiful and so was her hairdo.
Biggie’s offsprings were not playing, especially Nini, who was once a beauty pageant contestant. Nini came to the black carpet and stunned everyone in this lime sleeveless corset and full skirts.
To wrap it up, I have Venita whose Gothic look has had me considering becoming a poet. I mean, whatever it is that people feel that drives them to write poems , I’m feeling it right now. Her look here is that of an enchantress. Lord help us.
If some of your faves didn’t make this list, it’s either their pictures were not available at the time of writing this or I do not rate them at all😏.
I await your choice in the comments to know if I’m to apologise or prepare a boxing ring.
