Four ice queens made a pact in high school not to have sex until their wedding night.
They had seen what teen pregnancy did to their fifth friend and as such made a pact to remain virgins till their wedding nights.
However, of the four girls , only Jola(Idia Aisen) holds up religiously to her own end of the bargain.
It’s the week of her wedding now, and while she and Jaiye, her husband-to-be clash over their abstinence, the other girls, Vicky, Timi, Uche, find themselves pursued by past flames.
The groom’s friends, Tokunbo, Olisaemeka, and Efosa, aka The Force, also fuel the issue by teasing Jola and placing a bet of about 5 thousand dollars for him to find out if his wife is a virgin.
The boys each set out to win the ice queens over and before you know it each of the girls are re-evaluating their resolution.
Jola would come to realise the importance of making promises for oneself rather than to impress others.
The synopsis states that it’s a romantic comedy telling the story of three women moving mountains to protect a pact they all took as teenagers and the men who do the same just to stop them, but like the five foolish virgins, the Bad Boys and Bridesmaid run out of oil at its prime.
The movie’s major flaw lies in its attempt to tell the story from four different perspectives, while lacking a cohesive execution. What results is an uncaptivating film consisting of interrupted scenes of the love stories of the four ladies.
There’s also some camera placement and lighting mishaps that contribute to misinterpretation of the film.
To cut the long story short, Bad boys and Bridesmaids, is reminiscent of some other recent Nollywood films as it prioritised quantity over quality- the number of scenes, in this case.
It was a meh watch, and it rates 3/10 at XploreNollywood. .
