If you have been on Nollywood’s section of internet for five minutes this week, you will notice that one of the names that keep coming up is Dara, Darasimi, or Darasimi Nadi-the child actor who played Ihunnaya in Kayode Kasum’s Obara’m.
The reason for this is not far-fetched, considering how well Darasimi, 11 years old, disappeared into her character in Obara’m, a feat that even for adults, is a tough row to hoe.

The child actor was born in Benue, Makurdi on the 27th of September making her a Libra- which explains her social Samantha personality and charming character.
2. Dara started acting at the age of 9
From TikTok to lip-syncing high-profile monologues, Drasimi Nadi paved her way into the big screens after she appeared in a viral skit.
3. Her mum didn’t believe she could act at first
When Darasimi started showing interest in acting, her Mum did not really believe how serious she was about it until her actor friends asked that Dara shoot with them. The rest as they say is history.
4. She had a cooking show
As the child star was rising, her mom who is also a movie producer set up a cooking show where Darasimi featured popular household names like official lolo, David Jones David, etc The cooking show was known as Dara’s Cook Show.
5. You may remember her from The Smoke Screen by Bioduns Stephen
She played Bihi in this 2021 romance drama and has gone on to star in many other movies alongside household names like Beverly Naya, Gideon Okeke, Jide Ekenne, Funso Adeolu etc.

From creating awareness about epilepsy and crusading against corona etc, Darasimi has always used her voice for the social good.
