5 Things to Know About Toke Makinwa’s Debut to Nollywood!

Toke Makinwa is trying it all; from writing a best seller, to being super famous for being a TV Presenter, and being a Vlogger, and now she has added Actress to her bio. She is cashing in!

On an episode of Moments, she shared her journey to acting and said she has been waiting for the right script. Well it looks like the right script is here and Toke is ready to launch into Nollywood.

She boldly announced on Instagram that it is not a waka pass role, as she has been featured on Jenifa Diaries before. While she did very little on Jenifa Diaries, we expect a lot from this feature and here are 5 things we know so far;

5. The movie is a comedy titled “Makate Must Sell”: Comedy is big business in the Nigerian box office and going by the title here, Makate must sell is ‘Market’ must sell. Probably it is inspired by Chigul’s funny accent. While this is the working title, we are not sure if this will change along the line. We are not certain what the story line will look like but we do know that it is a comedy.

4. It features a couple of comedians: Charles Okocha, Bisola Aiyeola, Nedu of Wazobia, Chigul are all featured on Makate must Sell. A number of comedic videos have been released featuring Toke, Chigul and Charles Okocha and we are quite eager to see the final product.

3. Release date is set for Next Year: While no official date has been announced for its release, we anticipate that something next year, it will be released.

2. Don Omope Directs: Don Omope contributed to the super successful ‘The Wedding Party” as co-producer. He has also produced “Lunch Time Heroes” and “Taxi Driver: Oko Asewo,” he has worked on very interesting productions and it is quite exciting to see what he will do with this particular project.

1. Nigerian Cross Dresser, Bobrisky appears: Bobrisky will appear on the film with Toke Makinwa and while the film seems like it will be dominated by the popular stars , one can only wonder what roles he will play, but Toke remains our main attraction!
