There are new faces in the Nigerian film industry worthy of your attention. Once in a while a new face breaks into the industry and impresses in supporting roles, subsequently; they take on leading roles and cement their movie star status.
Adesua Etomi and Somkhele Idhalama come to mind as examples, as Adesua and Somkhele stared in minor roles before the moved on up and have become two of the fast rising actresses.
At Xplore we pride ourselves in discovering new faces and we are particularly excited about these 5 stars:
5. Charles Etubiebe:
He featured in Ojukokoro as the lead character Andrew. To make it as a major star it takes baby steps and we trust Charles will get there. Charles was absolutely impressive in Ojukokoro, we expect him to take more leading roles. Subsequently. We will definitely pay to watch him in more productions.
4. Oreka Godis:
Rhecks as she is called by close friends is impressive. She has featured in impressive films such as “A Few Good Men” and “When Love Happens”. Earlier this year, she took a lead role in “My Best Friends Wedding”. She has many film slated to be released later in the year. She is absolutely impressive on screen and we are very hopeful that she has all it takes to be one of the leading actresses in Nollywood.
3. Ade Laoye:
From TV Presenter to one of the most impressive rising actors to look out for. Ade Laoye featured in Hush, and she was impressive in her supporting role as an assistant on “Inspector K’. We expect Ade to take more challenging roles.
2. Rotimi Salami:
Rotimi Salami is doing very well for himself. He featured in “Timeless” which was directed by Ronya Art Man. He was memorable in it. He currently stars in Funke Akindele’s “Industreet”. He has all the star features required to be a household name in Nollywood.
1. Hauwa Allahbura:
Last year, Hauwa featured in “Gidi Blues” beside Gideon Okeke. Her acting was not too impressive, probably because she was featured beside the impressive Gideon Okeke but Hauwa is doing better as an actress. She featured in “Three is a Crowd” an Emem Isong production that left us with a lot of hope for what the actress will do in the future. She currently stars in Battleground showing on Africa Magic Showcase.
We cannot leave out Akah Nani, Makida Moka, and many others working tirelessly to get their major break.
