BBC Africa’s Women who changed the world has profiled a few women of African descent, who have gone beyond society restrictions to create change for their society. In an all new episode of the docu-series, they feature the ancient female warriors of Benin Republic – Dahomey Mothers.

The tale of the Dahomey warriors have managed to stay alive through the centuries, thanks to folktales of their fierceness in battle still sung in Benin Republic till date.

Mo Abudu in collaboration with Sony Studios are working on a series that will focus on the female Dahomey warriors, the video below can give an insight on what to expect.
