Following the success of Plaything, Anthill Studios has partnered with Peak Milk to create an upcoming 13-episode animated series titled the Adventures of Lola and Chuchu. The web series stars an overconfident eight year old (Chuchu) who often lands himself in trouble. His older cousin (Lola) is an intelligent ten year old and a born leader with a level of confidence uncommon for someone her age.
Haruva, one of the shellbacks (see trailer), is an antagonist who relies heavily on his trickery and incredible speed. He loves setting traps enjoys hand to hand combat. The Pally, a league of twelve spirits of the Maamu Mountain, ensure peace and prosperity in the land. They generate positive energy during the full moon and without them, Maamu land would fall into ruin.
Anthill, the animation studio and a state-of-the-art multimedia facility, was founded by Niyi Akinmolayan in 2008. The writer and director is popular for his work in films like Room 315, Out of Luck, Falling, The Arbitration, Kajola, and The Wedding Party 2 (currently in post production). Asides Plaything (a viral video claimed to be the most popular 3D animation in Nigeria), Anthill is also credited for The SIM, an action-packed sci-fi short with a full feature currently in the works.
The Adventures of Lola and Chuchu is sponsored by Friesland Campina (makers of Peak chocolate) and new episodes will be released on the Peak Milk YouTube channel, starting next week.
